The Derby Evening Telegraph publishes a column by RamsTrust every week on Tuesdays on its dedicated Derby County website. www.therams.co.uk and the Trader Group of free newspapers publishes a weekly column by RamsTrust. The Trader column is for individual members of RamsTrust to put their point of view across in the media. Although the views will not contravene the principles of the trust, the views expressed are entirely personal to the author and do not necessarily represent RamsTrust policy.

I am curious. Living almost as far from Pride Park as one can get (apart from those unfortunate to live in eastern Australia, New Zealand and the Pacific Islands this side of the International Date Line) I would like to know how the new swipe card form of entry to the stadium is going and what season ticket holders get for their money.

Today the championship, tomorrow, where? The challenge facing teams in the Championship has always been to prepare for promotion and to play in the Premiership, or else to insure that, if they fail and have instead to face relegation, they can sustain a playing group that get back to the Championship quickly.

How frustrating it can it be for us Derby fans! The team is plagued by injuries and struggling with disappointing results - Forest and Leicester are above us in the Championship table. Some fans were so frustrated during Derby’s televised home defeat by QPR that they threw their free commemorative T-shirts onto the pitch!
